2015 – A Look Back at SharePoint and PixelMill
It is no understatement that 2016 will be a year of growth and innovation for SharePoint, the SharePoint community and the SharePoint ecosystem. With the release of SharePoint 2016 at our fingertips and the continued increased adoption to the cloud, the PixelMill team is eager to see what the coming months have in-store! We are excited to reconnect with previous clients, as well as build new relationships with organizations that are embracing or improving their SharePoint deployments.
Business has increased beyond expectations over the last twelve months and we are looking forward to a fruitful 2016. Renewed optimistic attitudes towards SharePoint were apparent at Microsoft’s Ignite conference in May. The keynote with Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO, and a foundation keynote with Bill Baer and Seth Patton made it clear that on-prem SharePoint is here to stay and will continue to improve. This message was reiterated at the European Tech Conference where Jeff Teper recommitted Microsoft’s support and plans for SharePoint, offering new experiences and visions for the future. Not only is the PixelMill Team happy to see the revitalization of SharePoint, but we are looking forward to the release of the first cloud-driven SharePoint.
SharePoint 2016 provides the first cloud inspired platform on which we can build and enhance portals. Role-based installation will provide higher performance and availability. Zero down-time patching is important for the foundation of building solid portals that can maintain the workloads of the future. Increased cloud integration and so much more. As with any change there is some hesitation about using the cloud, but with time and proven success we expect to see a noticeable shift in user adoption.
At the end of 2015, one thing still remains abundantly clear, SharePoint is an enterprise tool that many organizations still want and need. SharePoint allows both big and small organizations alike to communicate effectively and efficiently. As coworkers are often located in different areas and often in different parts of the world, communication is key and SharePoint, on-prem, in the cloud as well as hybrid, will continue to improve and break down barriers. It allows companies to maximize communication and maintain a successful infrastructure.
We’re excited as our niche offers us the opportunity to work with organizations seeking to improve the look and feel of their SharePoint interface. The PixelMill branding and customization services for SharePoint encourages employee engagement to support meaningful interactions between coworkers across the globe. We help create beautiful, functionally correct interfaces. Often times, portals have the information you need, but not a way to find it. Good planning and a meaningful user interface helps solve this problem. As SharePoint continues to improve, it only means increased adoption of SharePoint.
Moving into the New Year, we plan to continue to support the SharePoint community locally in Northern California, regionally in the western US, and nationally as well as globally. We will continue to encourage the use of more modern SharePoint branding toolsets, such as grids and rapid coding frameworks. We have some great conferences heading our way, including SP Tech Con, SharePoint Fest, and MS Ignite. We look forward to traveling and getting the chance to reunite with good friends in the SharePoint community.
The PixelMill Team remains committed to our high standards of excellence for this upcoming year. We will continue to create beautiful and functional interfaces for our current and future clients. In 2016 we expect to push the envelope even further.
Cheers to the New Year and a new SharePoint!
