Webinar | How to Kick Fear and Toxicity Out of The Workplace, a Practical Guide

“Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” -Yoda-
“Toxic people attach themselves like cinder blocks tied to your ankles, and then invite you for a swim in their poisoned waters.” -John Mark Green-
Putting aside my knowledge of poets and using any chance I get to quote Star Wars, this balladeer and the galaxy’s own mini green wisdom machine bring up some valid points about an oft not talked about part of our work lives. We all know …ahem… ‘those’ people. We’ve been in ‘that’ environment. There’s nothing more exhausting and demeaning than working with and around people who’s only job it seems is to bring down the mood and make your work day harder to get through than a Twilight movie. This kind of atmosphere is hard not to take personally. Emotions tend to be contagious, both positive and negative. Toxic ones tend to leak out into the workplace affecting more than just the person afflicted. It can poison a team, a workplace, or even an entire organization. This can be hard to deal with, but something for you, we have…
It’s time for the next episode of the PixelMill Webinar Series! In this month’s session, “How to Kick Fear and Toxicity Out of The Workplace, a Practical Guide”, we welcome back Heather Newman (@heddanewman), Microsoft MVP and CMO of Content Panda, as she talks through the whys of bad workplace behavior and how to kick them out with practical examples and guidance. Fear and toxicity are words that have no place in meetings, the workplace or our lives. Everyone wants to be appreciated and respected for the contributions made to our jobs, careers, and organizations.
And yes that includes being the champion of trashcan basketball (looking at you, Rhonda. You go girl!)
Why You Should Attend
Attendees will learn how to identify the qualities of a fear-based workplace and how to move to a trust-based workplace. The session will dive into the lizard brain, impostor syndrome and the art of re-framing with tips and tricks to take back to your organization.
Diversity, inclusion, intersectionality, and belonging starts with individuals working to identify fear and toxic behavior. This action leads to more collaboration and creativity that empowers everyone to be their best selves, as well as encourages employee’s best work and helps companies achieve their technology dreams with more velocity.
