Webinar | TypeScript and the SharePoint Framework, Better Together

There are somewhere around 7,099 languages spoken in the world today (Thanks Google). However, that number is constantly in flux as we continue to learn more about the world’s languages every day. And beyond that, the languages themselves are in flux. They’re living and dynamic, spoken by communities whose lives are shaped by our rapidly changing world. Something to note in those numbers is a few of the PixelMill team’s favorites languages are anywhere from definitely to most likely missing: Love, code, pizza, webinars…Oh hey that reminds me!
It’s time for the next episode of the PixelMill Webinar Series! In this month’s session “TypeScript and the SharePoint Framework, Better Together”, we welcome Senior SharePoint Architect for ZAACT,  Microsoft Certified Trainer, and silver medalist in beer can art Ryan Schouten to our perfect-with-a-side-of-juice-and-hash-browns webinar series to introduce TypeScript to the masses, as well as show how more it’s than just a red-headed step child to Javascript.
Attendees will get a deep-dive look into TypeScript, a free and open-source programming language developed and maintained by Microsoft. During this session, Ryan will lead a discussion about the keys that we need to better understand and work with TypeScript, as well as talking a look at the benefits of TypeScript that would allow us to produce better, less buggy applications.
Hold on to your butts…this one is going to be a doozy.
Why You Should Attend
Besides the fact that webinars are an excellent way to engage with fellow community members and industry thought leaders, this is a chance to expand your knowledge and find suitable solutions for building applications. Throughout the session, users will get a good look at the many benefits to using TypseScript, including how to enable IDEs to provide a richer environment for spotting common errors as you type the code. For a large JavaScript project, adopting TypeScript might result in more robust software, while still being deployable where a regular JavaScript application would run.
Audience
While this session is geared towards those with a basic understanding of the SPFx and JavaScript, we encourage newcomers to dive right in and become familiar with this easily maintained first-class programming language. But don’t worry–while this session is an hour long, it includes a 15-minute Q&A from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM PST.
So join us on August 24th at 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM PST and create a powerful toolset for your next SharePoint project.
